Keystroke Payment Module (KeyPay)

The new Keystroke Payment Module (KeyPay), available in Keystroke v6.3 and later versions, provides important tools necessary for your business to operate a secure payment environment and significantly reduce the risk of losing sensitive payment card data. Keystroke POS with KeyPay is in full compliance with the latest PCI Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). KeyPay currently processes payments with Mercury Payment Systems and Merchant Warehouse.

KeyPay can be installed either as a conventional Windows Program or as a Windows Service. SBS recommends the Service method for most users. Whichever method is used, KeyPay should be installed on a single computer only to handle payment requests for all workstations. Both the KeyPay Windows Program and Windows Service are automatically installed and updated with the Keystroke program.

Keystroke credit card transactions are authorized at the time of sale, and depending on which electronic processor is used, funds may be transferred to the bank account immediately or upon end-of-day settlement procedures. Keystroke credit card authorization supports most national credit card processors. Credit card information can be entered manually, with a standard magnetic stripe reader, PIN pad, or signature capture device. Data is then transferred electronically to the processor via a high speed Internet connection or through a dial-up modem connection (either of which must be purchased separately).

The Keystroke program handles credit card transactions just like any other sale.  Simply swipe the credit card through the mag-stripe reader, PIN pad, or signature capture device.  Or just type in the credit card number and expiration date when necessary. Keystroke connects to the processor and requests authorization for the specified amount. Once authorization is complete, an approval code (unless declined) is displayed on the screen.  A signature receipt can be printed with all the necessary information for the credit card transaction.
